. Created by Don Facundo Bacardi Masson in Santiago de Cuba in 1862, BACARDI Superior Rum is the world’s first premium aged white rum. The unique taste of BACARDI Rum inspired cocktail pioneers to create some of the world’s most famous drinks including the Mojito (1862), the Daquiri (1898) and the Cuba Libre (1900). For almost 150 years the secret art to creating BACARDI Rum has been handed down from one Maestro de Ron BACARDI to another, each employing their years of experience and expertise to handcraft this legendary rum to ensure that it remains the same today as it did when it was first blended in 1862.
THE BAT
In Cuba, bats are considered lucky. When Dona Amalia Bacardi spotted fruit bats in the distillery, she insisted that a bat should appear on every bottle. Has our little mascot helped us survive and succeed against the odds? We’ll never know but the bat is here to stay.
THE FREEDOM FIGHTER
Emilio Bacardi Moreau had two great loves. His rum and his country. He risked his life to fight for Cuba in its struggle for independence from Spain. In spite of arrests, imprisonment and exile he never gave up. His courage was rewarded on his return when he became the first freely-elected Mayor of Santiago de Cuba.
THE PARTY HOSTS
1919. The US banned the manufacture and sale of alcohol. The party moved to Cuba where the Bacardi’s became legendary for their weekend long parties.

Gold offers a richer and deeper profile than BACARDI Carta Blanca. It is a slightly golden rum with smooth oak notes and touches of vanilla and butter caramel. It can be enjoyed straight or in elegant cocktails, such as El Presidente ( the original Rum Manhattan ). It was the rum used to create the original Cuba Libre in 1900.

Black is a medium body black rum that balances the light profile of the BACARDI rums with the robust flavor and intensity of the black rums category. Its profile is smokier and of a darker color,which comes from a heavier burning in the barrels for one of its Aguardiente components.
