History
The Frescobaldi family have been producing wines for over 700 years – and exporting for nearly 500 years. They first shipped wine to England in 1517. Their first customer was King Henry VIII.
The family is a major vineyard owner, with a great reputation for producing the highest quality wines.They own much of the best vine-growing land in Tuscany. The three most prestigious Frescobaldi estates are Castel Giocondo in Montalcino, Castello di Nipozzano in Chianti Rufina and Castiglioni in Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The other six estates they own, all in top quality areas, are Castello di Pomino, Remole, Montagnanana, Valiano, Corte and Santa Maria. The Castiglioni estate in Chianti Colli Fiorentini has some of the oldest Merlot vineyards inTuscany.
Vittorio degli Albizzi,
a member of the Frescobaldi family through marriage, first brought Merlot to Tuscany in 1855. He also introduced Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pi not Noir to the region.
But it was in the late 1940’s that Lamberto Frescobaldi with his son, Vittorio, modernized wine-growing production, emphasizing research, innovation and quality. Today, the business is led by Lamberto Frescobaldi and his winemaker, Niccolo D’Afflitto
Future Trade
presently imports seven Frescobaldi wines into the Philippines. These include two whites ( the Albizzia Chardonnay and Pomino Bianco ) and five reds: Remole, Castiglioni Chianti, Castelgiocondo Brunelle di Montalcino, Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina and Montesodi Chianti Rufina
The Castelgiocondo Brunelle di Montalcino and Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina are both listed in Wine Spectator’s 2005 list of the world’s top 100 wines.

TASTING NOTE
Pian di Remole Rosso 2017 has a bright violet-red colour. The nose opens up with intense fruity notes of blackberry and black cherry, followed by the spiced scent of black pepper and balsamic sage and eucalyptus. A fresh, yet pleasantly soft and therefore balanced wine with good persistence in the finish.
